The MOC Invitation

This is very simple.  There are several questions for you to answer before taking this challenge.  The intent is that you can answer them in 15-30 minutes though many have taken longer.  There is no right or wrong here.  These questions are for your encouragement, direction and benefit.  Frankly, we are all in this thing called life…Together.  Whatever works for you…works.

1)      What would you like to specifically create in your walk with God (an outcome)? State this positively and specifically so that you are not describing what you “don’t want”.   To say, I do not want Chinese food for dinner does not describe what you do want.  Stating your desired outcome positively, faithfully identifies what you want and clarifies your intentions.

2)      Can you self-initiate and maintain this outcome? In other words, you are not depending on anyone else in order to take action towards what you want.

3)      Why do you want this? Be specific.

4)      What specific action(s) can you take to create what you want in your walk with God? List at least 5 action items that you have “never done before”.

Mind Of Christ (MOC) Invitation: For the next 30 days, do something with God that you have “never done before.”  Stretch yourself.  Have fun and expect an invigorating spiritual revolution.

A Few Examples

  • After being deeply moved by the song “Let It Rain” in church one Sunday, one Christian decided that he would go for a run every time he could when it rained.  He imagined that each drop of rain was like a daily blessing from God.  He ran, he cried, he prayed and felt the presence of God.
  • One disciple was tired of saying God when talking about well…God.  He thought that this was an overused description of the Creator and it had lost some of its meaning for many including him.  So, every day for 30 days when the word “God” was used in church or throughout the day he thought internally or somehow interjected the idea of God being the “I AM” into the conversation.  It helped him know God was “present” in his life every moment.
  • One follower searched for “quiet waters” every day for 30 days.  She thought about the passage that God leads her beside quiet waters and found this to bring emotion back into her relationship with the “I AM.”
  • One disciple spent 15 minutes a day on a local mountain top focused only on one thought, “Come, Lord Jesus”.  That month he saw God showing up in his life as never before.

What are your ideas?  Please share them with us so that we can benefit from your walk with God.
